Property revaluation
The appraisal company of Commerford Nieder Perkins, LLC has recently completed an update of all property assessments within the Town of Lee for the 2011 tax year. Residents should start receiving letters tomorrow.

The new property assessment is representative of the market value of your property as of April 1, 2011. Due to market fluctuations, values of properties within the town have appreciated or depreciated at different rates since the last revaluation in 2006. Therefore, it may not be relevant to compare the old assessed value with the new assessed value.  PLEASE NOTE THAT THE TAX ASSESSMENTS DO NOT REFLECT ANY EXEMPTIONS OR TAX CREDITS.

INFORMAL REVIEWS WILL BE HELD AT THE TOWN SAFETY COMPLEX LOCATED AT 20 GEORGE BENNETT ROAD ON THE FOLLOWING DATES:

Friday, September 23rd, 2011 from 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Saturday, September 24th, 2011 from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM

If you have any specific questions regarding your property or and feel that the assessmented value does not represent market value, you may call to set up an appointment to meet with an appraiser for an informal review of your assessment. The assessment list for all property values will be available at the Town Office. If you are unable to attend a hearing in person, a phone hearing will also be available where a representative will call you at a specific time or you may submit any evidence in writing prior to September 26, 2011.
