Transfer Station Year End Report
Our town fiscal year ends at the end of June, and our new budget year starts on July 1st for ‘11/’12. The townspeople of Lee have some news; we generated 1051 tons of trash which cost us $74.15/ton to dispose of, for a total of $77,931. But the good part; we just received our last recycling check and the total for the ‘10/’11 fiscal year was $82,451! Yes, again we got more money for recycling income, than we paid to get rid of the trash. This only happened once before, in 2008, and that was a state wide first with only one town joining us. Our next goal; calendar year 2011, we need to get the remaining recyclables out of the trash and into the town checkbook. So get the word out to those few not recycling!
