Jackson Water Precinct Minutes -- 01/06/2016

Jackson Water Precinct Meeting
January 6th, 2016
(Unofficial until approved)

Attending: Scott Hayes, Bill Johnson, Karl Meyers and Kevin Pratt.
Also Attending: Burr Phillips

Checks were reviewed and signed.

For the first time in decades we got an exceedance for lead and copper at a couple of test sites . It could be as simple as the plumbing fixtures leaching into the water at these sites . The PH level will be adjusted to make the water more alkaline and therefore less corrosive so less leaching of these metals will take place. At some point, fittings could possibly be updated to help the situation but the easiest thing to do first is adjust the PH level.

We received the triennial chemical monitoring waiver.

Members of the forest service came to discuss the upper and lower dam project that the Water Precinct has a $20,000 grant for from the forest service. The grant will expire in 2017 if there is no “billable” activity in 2016. Ideas were discussed and a general timeline was gone over of work that may possibly be done to keep the grant from expiring.

There was no other business. The meeting was closed at 11:45 A.M.

Respectfully submitted,
