Conservation Commission Work Session

Conservation Commission members and volunteers met at the falls head-in parking area on Sunday morning, May 10, 2016. Tom Seidel led the group through a discussion of where to plant particular species and walked the group along the bank to point out erosion areas where seedlings could be planted. The group also observed where last year’s seedlings were planted. ~In all, the group planted 100 seedlings on the west side of the Jackson Falls area. Seedlings were watered, tagged with orange ribbon and/or silver & gold landscapers tags and many were marked with rings of stone.
Volunteers reset signposts and restrung twine along the head-in parking area to indicate a no-walk zone. Branches and brush were piled to block paths through high-erosion zones.
