Conservation Commission October 8, 2012 Minutes
Present: Larry Siebert, Brian Byrne, Dave Matesky, Pam Smillie, and Mike Dufihlo. Absent were Jess Wilson, and Hank Dresch.
A motion was made to accept the Minutes of September 10, 2012. It was seconded and passed unanimously. We discussed the upcoming USVLT meeting and Brian and Larry felt they could make it to represent the Commission.
A few people had gone up to the Falls and we drew in some changes on the maps we each have. Larry will speak to Greg Howard about his availability to work on a Falls plan over the winter and spring.
We decided to try and get a work session together for Sunday October 14th at 9:30 AM to start the work on the Gray’s Inn trail. Larry will notice this at the Post office and on E-News.
There was a little more discussion on the grist stone signs. The 3 estimates we now have are all coming in near $1500. The upside is that these signs have at least a 10 year warrantee, and the existing signs after 5 or 6 years still look good.
The meeting was ended early as darkness is setting in earlier and leaving us little time to get out into the field.
