Hull Board of Selectmen

August 13, 2002

        The Hull Board of Selectmen meeting was called to order at 6:00 pm on Tuesday evening, August 13, 2002 at the Hull Municipal Building, 253 Atlantic Avenue, Hull, Massachusetts.

Present:        John Reilly, Chairman; Thomas Burns, Vice Chairman; Regina Burke, Clerk; Leonard Hersch, and Gerald McLaughlin, Members.  Also present was Philip Lemnios, Town Manager and James Lampke, Town Counsel

Available position - Board of Assessors

MOVED-Hersch:   To instruct the Town Clerk to advertise the vacant position on the
                                    Board of Assessors.
SECOND-Reilly
VOTE: Unanimous in Favor

Pyne-Keohane concerts at War Memorial Gazebo

MOVED-McLaughlin:       To approve the schedule of concerts submitted by
Pyne-Keohane at the Gazebo and the installation of a September 11 Memorial plaque.
SECOND-Burke
VOTE: UNANIMOUS in Favor

        The Board requested Town Clerk, Bennett to advertise all Board vacancies again.

Field problems at “L” Street

Substitute Motion-Reilly:       The Board directs Acting Town Manager, Lampke and    Member Hersch to contact Park and Recreation Department to discuss issues at “L” Street Field.

CORRESPONDENCE

        The Board will take action as appropriate regarding letters submitted.

MOVED-Reilly:   To go into executive session at 8:40 p.m., to discuss: sale, lease, disposition of real property; consider applications for employment as the preliminary screening committee; contract negotiations with non-union personnel, and to reopen in open session.

Re-approve the designation of the position of Town Counsel as a Special Municipal Employee position.

MOVED-Hersch    To re-approve the designation of Town Counsel as a Special Municipal Employee position.  Approve the exemption of Town Counsel James B. Lampke's interest in his contract as Acting Town Manager from the Conflict of Interest law.
SECOND-Burke
VOTE: UNANIMOUS in Favor

        Noted for the record:  Lampke's disclosure, under the Conflict of Interest Law, as Acting Town Manager by having a Town Board (Building Department) oversee work on his home.
