Town of Hudson - Board of Selectmen
Minutes – December 14, 2009
  • Call to Order:
Messieurs Durant, Loura, Leeber, Parente, Vereault, Blazar, and Cipriano were in attendance. Ms. Santos and Ms. Burke were also present.
  • Minutes to be Approved:
Public Session:  November 30, 2009
On a motion by Mr. Parente, seconded by Mr. Leeber, the Board voted by a margin of 5-0 to approve the minutes.
  • Citizen’s Issues:
  • Meetings and Public Hearings - 7:00 PM:
Selectmen to conduct annual Tax Classification Hearing
As a result of the failure by the state Department of Revenue to certify the town’s property values in a timely fashion, the hearing was continued until the December 28, 2009 board meeting commencing at 7:00 PM.
On a motion by Mr. Durant, seconded by Mr. Parente, the Board voted by a margin of 5-0 to open and continue the hearing until 12/28/09 at 7:00PM.
  • Licenses:
Selectmen to consider approval of partial list of 2010 license renewals for all licensee’s that have meet all the requirements.
On a motion by Mr. Loura, seconded by Mr. Leeber, the Board voted by a margin of 4-0-1 to approve partial license of Licenses.  Mr. Parente Abstained.

Selectmen to consider approval of New Officer / Director for the 99 West, Inc. All Alcohol Pouring License.
On a motion by Mr. Parente, seconded by Mr. Loura, the Board voted by a margin of 5-0 to approve New Officer/Directors for the 99 West, Inc.
  • Personnel:
Selectmen to hold joint meeting with the Elected Constables, to consider appointing an interim constable.
Constables John Scichilone and Cipriano Pinto were present and recommended that Mr. Paul Spinetto be appointed as interim constable.
On a motion by Mr. Durant, seconded by Mr. Loura, the Boards voted by a margin of 7-0 to appoint Mr. Paul Spinetto as interim Constable for the Town of Hudson.

Selectmen to consider appointment of Ryan Szretter as Auxiliary Fire Fighter.
On a motion by Mr. Parente, seconded by Mr. Leeber, the Board voted by a margin of 5-0 to appoint Mr. Szretter as Auxiliary Fire Fighter.

Selectmen to consider appointing Patrick Manzo as an Associate Member of the Zoning Board of Appeals.
On a motion by Mr. Loura, seconded by Mr. Durant, the Board voted by a margin of 5-0 to appoint Mr. Patrick Manzo as an Associate member of the Zoning Board of Appeals.

Selectmen to consider approval of reappointments of various members of Boards and Committees whose terms expire on December 31, 2009, and who have expressed a desire to be reappointed.
On a motion by Mr. Leeber, seconded by Mr. Durant, the Board voted by a margin of 5-0 to re-appoint all Board & Committee Members.

Selectmen to sign warrant for January 19, 2010 Special State Election.
On a motion by Mr. Leeber, seconded by Mr. Loura, the Board voted by a margin of 5-0 to sign the Special State Election warrant.

Selectmen to consider approval and authorization to sign CDBG FY07 and FY08 grant extension requests.
On a motion by Mr. Loura, seconded by Mr. Parente, the Board voted by a margin of 5-0 to authorized grant extension requests.

Selectmen to consider approval of Cable Funds Transfer in the amount of $60,702 for an upgrade of the Institutional Network (INET).
On a motion by Mr. Loura, seconded by Mr. Parente, the Board voted by a margin of 5-0 to approve the transfer.

On a motion by Mr. Leeber, seconded by Mr. Loura, the Board voted by a margin of 5-0 to note correspondence.
