Selectmen's Minutes 03/27/2006
Minutes –March 27, 2006
1.      Call to Order:
Present were Messieurs Durant, Parente, Loura, Leeber, Lucy, Blazar, and Cipriano as well as Mesdames Santos and Ciccolo.
2.      Minutes to be Approved:
Public Session: March 13, 2006
On a motion by Mr. Lucy, seconded by Mr. Parente, the Board voted by a margin of 5-0 to approve the minutes.
Executive Session: March 13, 2006.
On a motion by Mr. Loura, seconded by Mr. Parente, the Board voted by a margin of 5-0 to approve the minutes.
3.      Citizen’s Issues:
4.      Licenses:
Selectmen to consider the approval of food and entertainment licenses for the Hudson Park Commission to conduct Concerts and other similar activities in Wood Park from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM on Wednesday evenings during June, July, and August.
On a motion by Mr. Lucy, seconded by Mr. Loura, the Board voted by a margin of 5-0 to approve the license.
Selectmen to consider ratification of recommendation to send letter to Santa Barbara Pub noting that it had been named as having been the last place to serve an Alcoholic Beverage to an individual later arrested and convicted of Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol.
On a motion by Mr. Loura, seconded by Mr. Parente, the Board voted by a margin of 4-0-1 to approve sending the letter. Mr. Leeber abstained from the vote.
5.      Personnel:
Selectmen to note the resignation of Call Firefighter, Rob Greenwood.
On a motion by Mr. Lucy, seconded by Mr. Leeber, the Board voted by a margin of 5-0 to note the resignation.
Selectmen to consider appointment of Mike Berry to a term expiring on December 31, 2008 on the Conservation Commission.
On a motion by Mr. Lucy, seconded by Mr. Leeber, the Board voted by a margin of 5-0 to make the appointment.
Selectmen to consider advance of 30 days sick leave to Jeffrey Mills.
On a motion by Mr. Loura, seconded by Mr. Leeber, the Board voted by a margin of 5-0 to approve the sick leave advance.
6.      General:
Selectmen to consider acceptance of a gift from Carol Parker of Westborough to the Fire Department.
On a motion by Mr. Parente, seconded by Mr. Leeber, the Board voted by a margin of 5-0 to accept the gift.
Selectmen to consider signing its 2005 Annual report.
On a motion by Mr. Lucy, seconded by Mr. Leeber, the Board voted by a margin of 5-0 to sign the report.
Selectmen to sign form noting the Town’s interest in State Surplus land on Coolidge Street.
On a motion by Mr. Loura, seconded by Mr. Leeber, the Board voted by a margin of 5-0 to sign the form.
7.      Town Issues:
Mr. Durant noted the poor condition of Vila do Porto Boulevard, and requested that its position on the street repair schedule be ascertained.
8.      Proclamations:
Selectmen to issue citation thanking The Backiel Family for its contribution of a park bench along the Assabet River Rail Trail.
Selectmen to issue citation thanking Ernest Peter and Anne Costa for their contribution of a park bench along the Assabet River Rail Trail.
Selectmen to issue citation thanking Ernest and Agnes Laviolette for their contribution of a park bench along the Assabet River Rail Trail.
On a motion by Mr. Parente, seconded by Mr. Loura, the Board voted by a margin of 5-0 to issue the citations.
9.      Correspondence to be Noted by Clerk:
On a motion by Mr. Loura, seconded by Mr. Parente, the Board voted by a margin of 5-0 to note correspondence.
10.     Adjourn:
On a motion by Mr. Leeber, seconded by Mr. Loura, the Board voted by a margin of 5-0 to adjourn.
