Minutes of Park Commission Meeting
Held on Thursday, June 7, 2018  
Town Hall – Selectmen’s Hearing Room at 9:00am


1. Call Meeting to Order:       9:00am
Mr. Bowen called the meeting to order at 9:05am.  Members present were Mr. Wood, Mr. Chaves and Mr. Bowen. Also present, Mr. Santos, Mr. Hannon and Mr. Aponte.

2. Minutes to Approve:

A. Summer 2018 Part-Time Seasonal Staff Recommendations
Mr. Bowen motioned to accept and approve the recommendations for part-time, seasonal staff as presented, to be sent the Board of Selectmen for confirmation, seconded by Mr. Wood and carried…

6. New Business:
A. Park Commission to consider changing lifeguarding hours at Centennial Beach
Mr. Santos asked the Commission if they’d be open to changing the beach hours and the times when lifeguards were on duty.  Members of the Park Commission stated that they are open to exploring options and requested that Mr. Santos provide a proposed new schedule at their next meeting.  

7. Old Business:
A. Park Commission to review Community Innovation Session schedule and format (to be held at Hudson Portuguese Club on June 13, 2018 at 6:30pm) with Community Circle staff
Park Commission was presented with preliminary survey results and was informed of the Innovation Session format scheduled to take place on June 13, 2018. Discussion followed.

8. Communications and/or Correspondence to be noted by Commissioners:
A. Email from Town Counsel related to Canal Walk Easement
The Park Commission reviewed the communications from Town Counsel, Michelle Ciccolo and Kerin Shea (both former Town of Hudson Community Development staff) related to the an easement between Hudson Savings Bank and the Town of Hudson located along Tannery Brook (Danforth Brook Canal) recorded in 2006, shown on plan as “Canal Walk” – Applicant: Hudson Park Commission/Division of Recreation.
Mr. Chaves stated that perhaps in 2005-2006 the Town had a vision for a small scale design project or may have wanted to protect the easement area for reasons unknown.  Mr. Chaves stated that due to its physical location, the immediate surroundings restrict public access to the easement area.
Mr. Bowen motioned to notify Town Counsel to proceed as needed in order to extinguish the easement subject to the notification and approval of the Board of Selectmen, via Mr. Moses.  Seconded by Mr. Wood and carried…
