Minutes of Park Commission Meeting
Held on Wednesday, October 23, 2017
Town Hall – Recreation Office at 7:00pm
1. Call Meeting to Order:
Mr. Wood called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm. Members present were Mr. Wood and Mr. Chaves. Also present, Mr. Santos.

A. FY19 Budget
Mr. Santos presented the Park Commission with the FY19 Budget. Discussion followed. Points of discussion included:
1. Adjustment to the Seasonal Salary Scale;
2. No requests for capital projects in FY19;
3. Eliminating the Youth Sports Town Meeting Article while shifting those funds directly into the Operating budget (Furniture and Fixtures) to cover portable restroom expenses. The commissioners stated that although some youth groups may be impacted more than others, the original intent of the article is no longer applicable to most if not all the organizations. The Commissioners also stated if this change were approved as part of the FY19 Budget, the youth groups should not be charged for portable restrooms usage effective July 1, 2018 (with the exception of special events);
4. Re-appropriating funds by way of Town Meeting, from Article 2-May 2001 Town Meeting (Wood Park/Apsley) and Article 2-May 2004 Town Meeting (Loureiro Picnic Area) to be used potentially for Wood Park Improvements as deemed appropriate and necessary by the Park Commission.
Mr. Wood motioned to accept the FY19 Seasonal Salary Scale and FY19 Budget as presented to be submitted to the Executive Assistant/Board of Selectmen for review and approval, with the following modifications: Move the total sum of $4500.00 from the Youth Sports Town Meeting Article into the Operating Budget, line item Furniture and Fixtures.
