Minutes of Park Commission Meeting
Held on Wednesday, May 31, 2017
Selectmen’s Hearing Room, Town Hall at 9:00am


1. Call Meeting to Order:               
Mr. Wood called the meeting to order at 9:01am.  Members present were Mr. Bowen, Mr. Wood and Mr. Chaves.  Also present, Mr. Santos and Mr. Hannon.

4. Personnel:
A. Park Commission to consider Summer 2017: Part-Time Seasonal Staff Recommendations
Mr. Santos informed the Park Commission that he and his staff were still conducting interviews for some positions and would not have a full list of recommendations prepared until all interviews were conducted.  Mr. Santos requested that the Park Commission schedule another meeting within in the next two weeks in order to conduct this business.

A. Park Commission to consider summer 2017 Concessionaires for Centennial Beach and Wood Park Summer Concert Series
Mr. Santos presented the Park Commission with the bid proposals he had received.  
Mr. Bowen motioned to accept the bid proposal from VeeBops Ice Cream for the 2017 Wood Park Summer Concert Series to be presented to the Board of Selectmen at the next meeting for final approval.  Seconded by Mr. Wood and carried…

Mr. Chaves asked Mr. Santos to describe the bidding/procurement process utilized in securing the proposals presented.  Discussion followed.  The Park Commission requested that Mr. Santos work with the Town’s procurement officer to see if any alternative options exist to secure these types of services in the future, so that the Town of Hudson-Division of Recreation can further maximize on the potential revenue and afford any and all interested vendors the opportunity to submit a bid or proposal.
