Minutes of Park Commission Meeting
Held on Wednesday, June 1, 2016
Selectmen’s Hearing Room, Town Hall at 8:00 am
1. Call Meeting to Order:
Mr. Scafidi called the meeting to order at 8:00 am. Members present were Mr. Scafidi, Mr. Bowen and Mr. Wood. Also present, Mr. Santos and Mr. Hannon.

5. Director’s Report:
A. Mr. Santos informed the Park Commission that the previously discussed office move between Hudson Recreation and Board of Health/Building Department would no longer be taking pace. Mr. Santos informed the Park Commission that he would be open to offering some office space within the Hudson Recreation Office to the Board of Health Department, for up to 2 employee’s max, to utilize during normal working hours. Mr. Bowen and Mr. Scafidi stated that they were not opposed to this as long as the office layout was to the liking of the Recreation Director and staff.
B. Mr. Santos informed the Park Commission that the Hudson Portuguese Club had submitted a request to use the Riverside Parking lot as overflow parking for a concert to be held on August 7th, 2016 at the Hudson Portuguese Club. Mr. Santos stated that the requestor had recently gone before the Internal Traffic Committee who had concerns regarding the event and that the requestor would be back to revisit the issue with ITC at their next meeting on June 24, 2016. Mr. Scafidi recommended that a clear plan for monitoring the parking lot (if permission were to be granted) needed to be in place to ensure those utilizing this area adhere to any restrictions set forth by ITC and as well as any listed on the Use of Town Property Form.
C. Mr. Santos informed the Park Commission that the Hudson 150 Mural Project was near completion and installation was scheduled to take place during the week of June 6, 2016. The official unveiling would take place on June 11, 2016 at 10:00am.
6. Communications and/or Correspondence to be noted by Commissioners:
A. Desmond Family Tree Donation to Town of Hudson/Recreation
Mr. Santos reviewed an email he had received from Thomas Desmond, who has intentions of donating a tree to the Town of Hudson/Recreation. Mr. Scafidi suggested that this request be brought before the Board of Selectmen for acceptance as it is a gift/donation to the Town of Hudson. And if looked upon favorably by the Board of Selectmen, the Park Commission/Director of Recreation would then consider this request. Mr. Santos to relay previous communications related to this agenda item to the Board of Selectmen for review.
