Minutes of Park Commission Meeting
Held on Tuesday, October 7, 2014
Recreation Office, Town Hall at 8:00am
1. Call Meeting to Order:
Mr. Redding called the meeting to order at 8:00 am. Members present were Mr. Redding, Mr. Scafidi, Mr. Bowen. Also present, Mr. Santos.
2. Minutes to Approve:
A. Public Session – September 17, 2014

3. Citizens Issues / Special Interest Groups:
A. Park Commissioners to consider adding a padlock to secure the pedestrian gate along the fence closest to the exit at Riverside parking lot. Verbal request submitted by Mr. Paul Maurice (abutter). Mr. Redding motioned to have a padlock installed at said location to secure said gate, seconded by Mr. Bowen and carried…

4. Personnel:
A. Park Commission to discuss the hiring process for Director of Recreation vacancy.
Mr. Santos informed that Commission that he had spoken to an attorney from the Mass. Division of Open Government, who informed him that all discussions related to the hiring of the new Director, if and when more than one commissioner is present, must be done in open session and that all OML regulations apply.
The Park Commission discussed and finalized the hiring process. The Commission also requested that Mr. Santos send a final draft of said process to the Town Manager for final approval.
