Minutes of Park Commission Meeting
Held on Tuesday, December 17, 2013
Recreation Office, Town Hall at 8:00am


1.      Call Meeting to Order:
Mr. Scafidi called the meeting to order at 8:00am.  Member present were Mr. Scafidi and Mr. Bowen. Also present were Mr. Santos and Ms. Ghiloni.  

2.      Minutes of Meetings:
a. Public Session – December 3, 2013
Mr. Bowen motioned to approve the minutes of the December 3, 2013 minutes as written, seconded by Mr.  Scafidi and carried….

3.      Citizens Issues/Special Interest Groups
No one in attendance

4.      Personnel:
a. Additional Seasonal Personnel – Winter 2013-14
The Director recommended hiring two additional staff members: George Colello, Basketball Youth Ref and Sunday Program Supervisor at $12.00/hour; and Kevin Luz, Farley Gym Custodial Staff at $15.00/hour.  Mr. Bowen motioned to approve the recommendations, seconded by Mr. Scafidi and carried…

Nothing to discuss at this time.

7.      Old Business:
a. Centennial Beach proposed renovation plans.
The Director indicated that they are still working with Thomas Land Surveyors and an Architect on the beach renovation project.  At this point there is not enough information or cost estimates to add a Capital Outlay request for the comfort station building or request funding from CPA for the landscape aspect of the project.  They will continue meeting with both parties over the winter to have more concrete plans in place by the spring of 2014.
