Minutes of Park Commission Meeting
Held on Tuesday, January 26, 2010
Town Hall – 7:00pm

1.      Call Meeting to Order:
Mr. Bowen called the meeting to order at 7:05pm.  Members present were Mr. Bowen, Mr. Redding, as well as Mrs. Ghiloni and Mr. Santos.

a. Conservation Restriction – Sauta Cornfield.  This CR is necessary due to use of Community Preservation Funds to develop and needs Town Meeting approval. The CR lists the Sauta Farm Condominium Trust as owners, with Park Commission listed as the agency holding the restriction.  Mr. Bowen motioned to support the Town Meeting Article, seconded by Mr. Redding and carried…

b. Conservation Restriction – Fossile Land.  This land was purchased using CPA Funds and also needs Town Meeting approval.  The Conservation Commission holds the active recreation piece, while Park Commission holds the passive piece of land specified in the article as Area A and Area B.  Mr. Redding motioned to support the Town Meeting Article, seconded by Mr. Bowen and carried….

c. Lego League Program – in coordination with Hudson Public Schools.  This program is an introductory to Robics for elementary students.  Curriculum will be written by Ellen Schuck who is the coordinator of the Junior High and High School program and will be run after school or evenings by parent volunteers, overseen by a coordinator in each school.  It is geared to provide programming for the average child who is interested in this type of program and will be held from October to March with an in-town competition or exhibition in March or April.  Currently operating at Mulready School we will expand the program to both Forest Ave and Farley elementary schools if we are able to find parent volunteers.  Some of the necessary software will be provided by the Jr./High School programs, with all other materials purchased through users fees.  Mr. Redding motioned to approve the program under Hudson Recreation, seconded by Mr. Bowen and carried….
