Minutes of Park Commission Meeting Held on Tuesday, April 26, 2005

I.      Call Meeting to Order
Mr. Redding called the meeting to order at 7:00pm.  Members present were Mr. Redding, Mr. Chiasson and Linda Ghiloni, Director of Recreation, Mr. Busch was not present.

c.      Wood Park Concession Bid Recommendation
Linda Ghiloni informed the Park Commission that she had not received any bids for the Wood Park Concession and asked the Park Commission if she could ask the local Boy Scouts to do the concession as they have for the past two years.  Mr. Redding motioned to have Linda Ghiloni ask the local Boy Scouts to do the concession, seconded by Mr. Chiasson and carried…

V.      New Business
a.  Mr. Chaisson requested information on Pickles Pond and the possibility of replacing lights for winter skating.  The Director informed him that there are too many liability issues regarding safe ice for skating, and therefore it was not possible.  She had requested information from the Insurance Company and Town Council in the past.  Additionally, Mr. Chaisson asked about a walking path along the pond.  The Director stated that they would have to file with Conservation.  

b.  Mr. Chaisson asked about the area on Apsley Street near Bruce’s Pond.  The Director stated that that area as well as Bruces Pond is private property owned by Larkin Lumber Company.
