7:00 Public Hearing – Community Preservation Plan
The Committee members present discussed various aspects of the plan regarding projects that the funding has achieved as well as potential projects going forward. Discussions included the Centennial Beach renovations and timeline, Town Hall restoration, potential for Housing Authority project and Housing Trust Programs. No citizens were in attendance to make any additional comments. Mr. D’Amelio motioned to approve the Plan as written, seconded by Mr. Davis and carried….

7:15pm Applications for Purchase of the Meer’s Property on Wilkins Street
Mr. Parent noted that this was a great price for 16+- acres compared to other property purchased. Discussion followed regarding its location and potential future use. Mr. D’Amelio questioned a small sliver of land that is between two houses listed as owned by Santa Albertini and asked if that was part of the purchase. Mrs. Ghiloni stated she did not think so but would ask Mrs. Meers.
Mr. Davis motioned to approve the purchase and submit an article for acquisition to the May 2016 Town Meeting for Three Hundred Eighty Two Thousand Dollar ($382,000.00) from the CPA Budgeted/General reserve funds, with the stipulations indicated by Joanne Meers, that the property be named after her parents. Mr. D’Amelio motioned to have Mr. Parent remain as Chairman and Mrs. Ghiloni remain as Vice Chair, seconded by Mr. Durant and carried…

Discussions were held regarding the financial documents presented with remaining balances and those that will be added at the May Town Meeting. Also, discussed were percentages spent on 4 funded criteria’s of the CPA, our current housing stock and various funding options for projects in the future. Mr. Davis distributed a map produced by SVT with protected open space across the state. He stated that having been part of the negotiations for land over the past year that he is very interested in being a part of the process going forward.
