Ms. Burke, Planning Director received information from Jennifer Thompson regarding a 6+- acres parcel on Old North road that she is interested in selling to the Town. Committee members discussed the parcel that is oddly shaped and potentially has two house lots with a common driveway if developed.  The parcel does directly abut the recently purchased Gerwick Land. The Committee will have the property appraised since it has potential for a recreation site (access, parking, etc.) to adjacent conservation land.

No one in attendance to present this information.  The Committee members did discuss the necessity of these renovations to the overall “health” of the building and the need to make these repairs that will be part of a much larger project, to stop the many areas where leaking is occurring.

Discussion following regarding capital outlay funds or warrant articles, the slate roof and these historical feature rehabs.  Additionally, many of the committee members feel that the Town should continue to rehabilitate our historic buildings but that some of the funding for those should come directly from capital outlay, grants, etc.

Mrs. Ghiloni motioned to approve $194,500.00 from Historic Preservation and Budgeted Reserve Accounts, contingent upon remaining funds for the full project being approved by other funding sources.  The motion was seconded by Mr. Durant and carried….
