Minutes of Meeting Held on Wednesday, September 16, 2009

Presentation by Katherine Roth, Community Preservation Coalition
This presentation included information on the founding of the Community Preservation Coalition and the organizations such as Trust for Public Land, Mass Affordable Housing Alliance, who are also partners of the Coalition, as well as the cities and towns who are currently members.  Katherine explained that they assist communities with various aspects of the legislation from technical assistance, adoption of the CPA to implementation.  She also explained the SB90 Act to Sustain Community Preservation and what that means for communities who have adopted CPA already and the incentives for those who have not.

Sauta Farmhouse Property
Jennifer Burke informed the committee that she and Paul Blazar had met with family members regarding the Sauta Farmhouse Property.  Information from the meeting was discussed briefly and the committee proposed speaking with an individual from the state regarding an Agricultural Preservation Restriction (buy development rights).  Whatever direction the committee intends to take would need an appraisal.  Paul Byrne approved appraising the property after speaking with individual from the state, seconded by Linda Ghiloni and carried….
