Also, distributed was the proposed Application and Guidelines. Jennifer requested that the members look over the documents and make comments and give input by Friday, for posting on the Town’s website on Monday, December 3, 2007.
John Parent requested other avenues of informing the public. Jennifer stated that she had contacted a reporter from the Metro West Daily News and that copies will be in the Town Clerk’s Office and Board of Selectmen Office. Michelle Ciccolo stated it could be posted on ComCast. At this time the committee does not have any funding for a legal advertisement. Also, Joe Durant will also mention at the upcoming Board of Selectmen meeting that applications are available.
Jennifer informed the members that the Town Accountant indicated that approximately $300,000 will be in the account by the Annual May Town Meeting, but that the state matching funds would not be available until October 2008. Jim Vereault asked whether the 10% for each category was over the five years or annually, and Jennifer stated over the five year period. She will also be sitting down with the Town Accountant to put into place a separate account for the CPA funds that will enable the committee and Town Account to accurate track the funds.
Jim Vereault also asked if there were any individuals that we knew would be submitting applications. Both Jennifer Burke and Linda Ghiloni stated that they intended to submit applications. Jennifer’s application would be for housing programs that will continue to maintain our current 10% affordable housing stock. Jennifer will be attending a CPA affordable housing workshop over the next several weeks to gain information on various programs.
Jim Vereault also questioned whether there were any projects of an urgent nature and Michelle Ciccolo stated that there were and asked Linda Ghiloni to give a brief account of the Fossile Property on Brigham Street. This 6+- parcel is in eminent danger of development with permitting for a single family home now complete. It is on the Assabet River, has a pond on the property, and is adjacent to Hudson High School.
Discussion followed regarding other properties on the river as well as 61A properties.
