The meeting commenced at 7:00 PM. The minutes of July 17, 2007 were read and accepted with changes noted. The Board discussed general issues regarding petitioners. Ray Korny brought to the Board’s attention potential measurement problems for front setback requirements with some roads in town that are poorly defined or have “moved” over the years. The Board will be careful when dealing with these cases.

Mr. Joyal explained that he would like to demolish part of the existing house, raise the structure to meet storm standards, and re-build. Sarto read the by-law regarding building activity in a flood plain zone. The petitioners stated they would employ an engineer for this project. A shed and pump house would be removed. A deck would replace one of the existing added on rooms on the lakeside of the house. The footprint of the house would not change. The petitioners were directed to the HCC and the Health Commission. A continuance was scheduled for August 21, 2007 at 7:30 PM. A site review was scheduled for Thursday, August 9, at 8 AM.

Mr. Peters would like to add a second floor that is within the present house footprint. Mr. Peters also owns the adjacent lot. A continuance was scheduled for August 21, 2007 at 8:00 PM. A site review was scheduled for Thursday August 9, 2007 at 8:30 AM.

The Walkers returned to the Board with specific house drawings and engineering details that the Board had requested. The Walkers want to tear down the existing house and rebuild a new home. Accompanying the Walkers were engineer, Mark Farrell and architect, Vicky McCourt. Lori Dillon an abutter was also present. Mr. Farrell and Ms. McCourt explained the project and answered all of the Board’s questions. It was established that the roofline would be 27’2” above the road level. The house would not exceed its present outside dimensions. A continuance was scheduled for August 21, 2007 at 8:30 PM. A site review was scheduled for Thursday August 9, 2007 at 9:00 AM.
The meeting adjourned at 9:00 PM.
