Meeting Minutes
July 16, 2014
Call To Order
The Chairman called to order a meeting of the Holland Finance Board at 7:30 PM on July 16, 2014 at the Holland Town Hall.
Roll Call
Finance Board members present: Andrew Harhay, Ernest Fancy, John Phelps and Mike Brady.
Approval of Minutes
The draft minutes of the July 9, 2014 had been previously distributed for review. The minutes were approved unanimously, as written.
New Business
Board Reorganization for FY15: The members discussed the scope of work being performed by Board and possible ways in which the many tasks could be accomplished. Members volunteered to serve in certain positions and voted unanimously to approve the structure and the following individuals:
Vice-Chair – Ernie Fancy
- Secretary – Mike Brady
- Database Administrator – John Phelps
Potential Special Objectives for FY15: The Chair provided a ‘thought starter’ list of objectives that could be considered for FY15. The ideas included the development of written financial goals and potentially revising the budget development process; members were asked the think about other pursuits that could be considered.
Meeting Schedule: The members present suggested that meetings could be held on either Wednesday or Thursday; John Ebersold will be contacted for his input.
MMPA Membership: The members unanimously approved the $100.00 payment for continued participation in FY15. The organization is a key source of benchmark data, such as job positions, wages and organizational structure for many Massachusetts municipalities, as well the names of individuals that can serve as resources in various areas.
