Holland Conservation Commission

Minutes of Commission meeting held on November 24, 2009.
~
Present: Mary vandenBerg, Chairperson, Marcia Beal, Patricia Caron and Nathan Gumlaw. Absent: James Wettlaufer.
Chairperson called the meeting to order.
The Minutes of November 10, 2009 were read and accepted and will be distributed.
We received from JMP Environmental Consulting Inc. on behalf of New England Land And Lumber, Inc. a letter requesting the Commission to issue an extension to Order of Resources Area Delineation for the project on Mashapaug Rd., DEP File #184-D001 which was originally issued 11-1-2005 and re-issued on October 7, 2008. The form that they had submitted and that we approved on November 10, 2009 was incorrect. Following discussion, the correct form entitled Extension Permit for Orders of Conditions was signed by members on November 24, 2009. Member signatures were notarized by Kristin LaPlante, Notary Public.
David Kowalski, Chairman of the Board of Health spoke of his concerns regarding the Town owned 11 acres at 54 Union Rd. which he discovered has been used for a dumping site, i.e., old refrigerators, washing machines, etc. which were buried near what he thought was a stream. He questioned whether we were aware of this. We were not. The Commission will investigate.
We received a “proposed” Forest Cutting Plan, regarding 8.5 acres owned by Michael and Rhonda Santos of 33 Butterworth Rd., not authorized, to date, by the State Forrester.
Mary vandenBerg reported having e-mailed Robert McCollum, Program Chief, Wetland and Waterways regarding the forest cutting by the Army Corps of Engineers along Lake Siog. To date, no response.
We discussed future Commission meetings. No meeting on Dec. 8, 2009 due to the State Primary. If need be, a meeting on Dec. 22, 2009.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:20 p.m.
Respectfully submitted by:
Patricia J. Caron, Secretary
Copies to: Select Board, Town Clerk, Board of Health, Planning Board, Building Inspector, Highway Surveyor, ZBA, File and HCC Chairperson.
