Minutes of Commission meeting held on May 12, 2009.

Present: Mary vandenBerg, Chairperson, Marcia Beal, Patricia Caron, Howard Fife, Nathan Gumlaw and James Wettlaufer.
7:05 p.m. Chairperson called the meeting to order.
The Minutes of April 28, 2009 were read and accepted and will be distributed.
Mail –
We received from National Grid a notice regarding Utility Maintenance along Mashapaug Rd.
We received from the Service Forester Agent a forest cutting Plan approved and signed for Arthur and Dawn Evans of 31 Hisgen Rd.
A letter from Escape Estates informing us about their schedule to perform work along Mashapaug Rd. as agreed for the Puziak job at 264 Mashapaug Rd. for the week of May 18th thru the 23rd.
From Green Hill Engineering 2 Notices of Intent –
1 – Mr. Michael Lyman, Applicant/David Kowalski, owner of 346 Mashapaug Rd. to build a single family house. Hearing scheduled for May 19, 2009 at 8:00 p.m.
2 – Richard and Kelly Robbins of 230 Stafford Rd. to repair a septic system. Hearing scheduled for May 19, 2009 at 8:30 p.m.
We received a Notice of Intent from the Holland Highway Dept. for the Sturbridge Road Drainage and Road Improvements. Public Hearing is scheduled for June 9, 2009 at 7:30 p.m.
Re-scheduling of Public Hearings:
The 7:30 p.m. scheduled continued Public Hearing for Trenton Carlson was rescheduled for June 23, 2009 at 7:30 p.m. per their request in order for them to complete revised plot plans.
The 8:00 p.m. scheduled continued Public Hearing for Rocco Carabetta was rescheduled for May 19, 2009 at 9:00 p.m. because of conflicting meetings.
Members signed a Certificate of Compliance for Roy and Kim Walker of 61 Mashapaug Rd., DEP File #184-150, originally issued to Deborah Sichol. A site visit was done by members on May 16, 2009.
7:40 p.m. James Iancale of 55 Island Rd., Map R-11-B-08 spoke of his revised plan to simply add a second story to his existing house. A Request for Determination had been given to him on October 7, 2008.
7:45 p.m. All members of the Planning Board and Jack Keogh were present. They gave us their interpretation of the laws regarding the property at 174 Mashapaug Rd., Map 10a-6.02.
8:30 p.m. The scheduled Public Hearing for Robert Rodrigues of 8 Cove Rd., Map R-16-A-05 for a Request of Applicability to demolish and re-build his house on the existing foundation was held. No abutters came. Following discussion, Mary vandenBerg made a motion for a Negative Determination. Seconded by Howard Fife and all were in favor of closing the Hearing at 8:40 p.m. Mary vandenBerg signed Procedure Sheet 2008-1326.
8:45 p.m. Steve Thompson of 116 Wales Rd. wants to build an addition to his house near a stream. A Request for Determination was given. Public Hearing is scheduled for June 9, 2009 at 8:00 p.m.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:00 p.m.
