Cemetery Reports/Minutes 12/16/2015
  Holland Cemetery Commission
Chairman: Sarto Caron; Secretary: Pat Caron; Sexton: Brian Johnson

Reports

On September 16, 2015 Bryan Leo Neff’s cremated remains were buried in Section VIII (8), Plot 68.  He died on October 24, 2009.

On September 26, 2015, Janet Frances Crock’s cremated remains were buried in Section VIII (8), Plot 12.  She died on June 26, 2015.

On October 15, 2015, Bryan Johnson met with Rita LaJoie at the cemetery. She purchased in Section X (10), Plot 202.

On October 29, 2015, we received from Country Memorial an application form for a foundation for Raoul and Gwynne Gendreau in Section IV (4) Plot 111, payment from Wilma Brubaker (daughter).

On November 2, 2015, Pat and Sarto Caron met with Kelli A. Robbins at the cemetery.  She chose in Section X (10), Plots 255-256.

On November 30, 2015, Irene E. Veber’s cremated remains were buried in Section IV (4), Lot 90, Plot 3.

On December 8, 2015, Pat and Sarto Caron met with Marsha and Don Beal at the cemetery.  They chose in Section IX (9), Plot 91.

On December 12, 2015, Pat and Sarto Caron met with Steven P. Martin who purchased in Section X (10), Plots 243 and 269.

On December 14, 2015, Pat and Sarto Caron met with Jacqueleen and Thomas Kenney at the cemetery.  They purchased in Section X (10), Plot 257.

On December 16, 2015 the Commission met to discuss price changes since we are in need of additional funds to survey additional sections and to repair fallen tombstone in the older sections.  We had asked Janine Drake, Board Clerk, to investigate cemetery prices in area towns.  We were shocked to discover how low our prices are. However, we feel it is not appropriate to raise our prices to their level at this time but have agreed to the following “Holland Cemetery Prices effective January 1, 2016”. Motion was made by Sarto to accept these changes to our prices. Seconded by Pat Caron and approved by all.  Please see page 2.

We questioned Linda Blodgett, Treasurer, on how to compensate the Highway Department for Saturday burials. Checks made out for grave openings during the week are allocated to the Revolving Fund, NOT to the Highway Dept. who do the work. On Saturday, the Highway Dept. do the work on their own time and need to be compensated.  Sarto made the motion that Saturday Burials should be $150.00 and Cremations should be $75.00 to be paid to the employee doing the work. Motion seconded by Pat Caron and approved by all.  Linda also said the Commission “will need to write a Memo to the Treasurer and the Accountant making them aware that wages for a Saturday Burial ($150.00) and Cremation ($75.00) are to be taken from the Revolving Fund”.

Respectfully submitted by:

Patricia J. Caron, Secretary

Copies to:  Select Board, Town Clerk and File.
