Selectmen’s Minutes
November 14, 2007
Opened: 7:10 P.M.
Present: Jim Wettlaufer, Earl Johnson, Christian Petersen
Motion 111407-1: Motion made by Jim Wettlaufer, seconded by Earl Johnson to accept the minutes of the November 7th meeting as read, all in favor.
The high bidder for the 1983 Ford Econoline XL withdrew his bid, the automobile was awarded to Michael Sawka at $279.00. Selectmen had no objection to this sale.
Motion 111407-2: Motion made by Earl Johnson, seconded by Christian Petersen, all in favor, to transfer $11,000 from the Thames River Basin fund to balance the budget.
A letter from the Holland Reservoir Association requesting information about the lake drawdown was read. Selectmen agreed to postpone the drawdown until sufficient rainfall improved the drought status.
A memo from the Memorial Day Committee was read. Selectmen approved the Memorial Day events to be held in the afternoon in hopes of having the Tantasqua Band perform.
Motion 111407-3: Motion made by Jim Wettlaufer, seconded by Christian Petersen, to accept the appointment of Carl Johnson to the Recreation Committee, term to expire
June 30, 2008. Mr. Johnson abstained from voting.
A letter from Ronald Benoit, resident, was read concerning the new construction on property adjoining his. Mr. Benoit was told to contact the Building Inspector.
Residents were reminded that cars parked on the roadside would be towed in the event of snow.
The Selectmen agreed not to meet next week, November 21.
Motion 111407-4: Motion made by Jim Wettlaufer, seconded by Earl Johnson to adjourn the meeting at 7:55 P.M., all in favor.
