Skateboard Park Minutes
September 8, 2010
Members Present: Mark Flionis, John Blunt, Mike Savino, Nate Moore, Jim Jumonville (Selectman), Jacquie Kelly (Asst. Town Manager), Denise Morano (Recreation Director).
Members Absent: Marta Ferreira, Jessica Massery, Sue Serewicz
3 RFP's were received and distributed to the members. Jacquie explained that this project is exempt from the normal design process so we don't have to take the lowest bid. Our selection procedures should include firms that have experience, resources and scheduling, knowledge, artistic style and thoroughness. The 3 bids received were: Grindline Skateparks, Spohn Ranch Skateparks and Hardcore Shotcrete Skateparks, Inc.
The Skateboard Park will not be on the special Town Meeting in November, but will be on the annual Town Meeting in May.
Mike and John will email members a list of items that we should be looking at in the proposals that will help us better assess the firm. Having this list will assist the members in ranking the proposals.
It was decided to extend the deadline to Sept. 24 for accepting more proposals.
A meeting will be scheduled for Wed. Oct. 6 at 5:30 to review the RFP's.
We will also meet for out regularly scheduled time at 5:30 on October 12.
