Director's Report

Programs: A new session for Yoga, Stained glass and Cardio-blast will begin next week. Mountview students will receive a survey from the Recreation Dept. so we may get new ideas of the types of recreation programs they may want to try. Due to the lack of snow, Ski Ward may bump the start date from January 8 to January 22.

Pool: BH+A has been slow to respond regarding the green space expansion project, and because of this, an addendum will be submitted with the FY '08 budget for capital expenses. The pool passes have been ordered. Last year 168 members purchased 3 passes for themselves and families, please consider this when discussing the family passes fee schedule.

Miscellaneous: The Bradley Gilman estate has sent the Recreation Department a final check for $2985.27. The total donation received is $34,439.90. The monies have been placed in a trust fund for a recreation project only. Eagle Lake bathhouse is now complete. The 2006 Annual Report is due no later than February 16. A meeting is scheduled with the league directors of youth sports teams for January 10, to discuss the upcoming spring field assignments. $50000.00 has been included in the FY '08 budget for repairs to the tennis court, improvements to the playground and field improvements at Rice School.

Old Business

The resident family pass fee had been tabled to the Janaury 4 meeting.

A MOTION was made by Susan Serewicz, and seconded by Rosemary Johnson: To increase the resident family pass to $100.00. Motion passes by a 4 - 1 vote.

The next Recreation Committee meeting will be held on February 1, 2007 @ 7:30 p.m. at the Starbard Building.

Meeting adjourned at 9:05 p.m.
