Director's Report

Pool/Summer: BH & A has provided a plan with details showing an additional 250 square foot area on the southeast corner of the grassy knoll. The fence can be moved back and still be on Town  property. DCR will not need to be contacted. This should be completed before the opening season by in house staff. A public hearing is scheduled for Monday, February 5, @ 7:30 in Memorial Hall, located in the Town Hall. The meeting will take place during the Selectmen's Meeting to discuss the proposed Recreation pass fee increase. Your presence is requested. The summer brochure is near completion. New swim and tennis classes have been added to accommodate ones that are most popular. The brochure will be completed once we know the pass fee's and the dates will be determined once we are near the end of winter season.

Programs: An adult Pilates class is scheduled to begin on February 26th at the Light Dept. from 7:00-8:00a.m. The adult programs are continuing with positive numbers. Men's basketball attendance numbers have increased, so next year Denise may have the men register for the class. The results of the Mountview survey are as follows: 647 students completed the survey; the top 5 were basketball (230), flag football (180), dance (156), soccer (152) and jewelry making (146). A copy of the Mountview flyer has been given to you, but will not be distributed. We can not run programs in the gym. We are trying to come up with classes that can be held in the classrooms.

Miscellaneous: A thank you note has been sent to the lawyer who represents the family of Bradley Gilman.

The next Recreation Committee meeting will be held on March 1, 2007 @ 7:30 p.m. at the Starbard Building.

Meeting adjourned at 8:30 p.m.
