MINUTES
HCTV Studio October 28, 2010
800 Main Street 7:00 P.M.
MEMBERS PRESENT:

- Minutes of Meeting of August 12, 2010 were accepted.
- Over-ride Problems: The Channel 13 over-ride problem has not been fixed. Johnny hopes to meet with Charter on Tuesday to work on it.
- WRHS Auditorium Sound System: The WRHS above stage speakers are now properly rigged and no longer present a danger.
- WRSD: Johnny is working with Kelley Gangi, Curriculum Supervisor, to finish up the last segment of the Literacy Initiative http://www.wrsd.net/literacy/. Future projects include a Math Initiative and a Phys Ed Grant project. Johnny is working with Lee Ann (Hedberg) Jaquith to use student on-air reporters about school happenings, a ½ hr show which will hopeful become monthly. Two Sony FX7’s will be purchased for the HCTV Studio which will free up 2 Canons for loan to WRHS. As previously promised two I-Macs have been purchased for the Drama project at WRHS
- Channel 12: The bulletin board maintained by the Town Clerks Office has been down since Tuesday. Johnny has determined that a new system is needed and ordered Magic Box Memo: http://www.magicboxinc.com/products/memo/ Meanwhile the Audio Journal will remain on Channel 12 with a default page showing
There was also some discussion of the need to upgrade the studio playback system during this fiscal year. Johnny is looking into new systems including Tightrope http://www.trms.com/broadcast and Nexus http://www.leightronix.com/products_nexus.php.
- Channel 13: NASA has changed its satellite configuration which will require some new equipment for our dish ($900.00). Until it can be obtained we will not be able to show NASA programming. The Pentagon Channel will run in its place.
- HCTV Budget: The latest report from the Town Accountant shows that the HCTV11 FY2011 budget is on track
- Director’s Notes:
- 3 new On the Road’s in the can, takes us into December.
- Johnny recorded at the Business Expo today in Worcester
- To Your Good Life is ongoing
- Candidates Forum
- Weather Related Emergency Survivor Skills
- Zabelle is back (final year? Hope not) 12 shows anticipated, 3 scheduled to be taped next Thursday, Jay taking over production.
- Red Barn Oven being recorded November 13th
- Old Police Station being decommissioned Monday, November 1st
- Special Town Meeting Monday, November 8th at Mountview School
- Jay recorded Civil War reenactment at Alta-Vista Farm\
- The Skate Board Committee hopes to do a show
Johnny attended the Worcester State University Intern Fair – the best yet – 5 or 6 really good students- hopefully HCTV11 will have 1 or 2 in January.
Next Meeting: Scheduled for Thursday, December 2, 2010 at 7:00 pm.
