CABLE ADVISORY COMMITTEE MINUTES
MEETING NUMBER 203
HCTV Studio December 8, 2008
800 Main Street 7:00 P.M.
MEMBERS PRESENT: Chris Hugo, Larry Popple, Patt Popple, Duffy Tilson
ALSO PRESENT: Johnny Suire, Public Access Director
The minutes of meeting #205, October 27, 2008 were accepted.
Control Room CCU's: (needed to make studio cameras fully functional) 1 is in, 2 are back ordered and will hopefully be in by the first of the year.
Web Stats: Johnny has been sending the HCTV11 web stats (number of hits on a daily basis) to Larry. Larry has been putting them on a spread sheet which he passed out to the committee. The stats show a steady flow of new and repeat visits which indicates a healthy interest in HCTV11.
WRHS Surplus Equipment/Black Box Theater: AdTech will update their recommendation after the cable is installed in the school.
WRHS Wiring: 2000 feet of RJ11 plenum cable has been ordered and is scheduled to be installed by AdTech during the holiday vacation. RJ11 cable is more suitable for the long run at the high school.
Updates from Johnny:
a. Holden Christian Academy was in the studio last Thursday to tape a program
b. Received a thank you from Jennifer Stanovich of Wachusett Area Chamber of Commerce for "On the Road". Rep Evangelidis also sent a letter praising "On the Road."
c. Johnny is fine tuning the 2010 budget.
d. On December 19th the WRHS Choir will again perform with Kenny Rogers (at Mohegan Sun) which will be taped for HCTV11 showing.
e. Future Equipment possibilities:
i. It would probably cost about $50,000 to put a remote camera set-up in WRHS Auditorium. This could be split over 2 fiscal years (2009/2010).
ii. The portable equipment (cameras, wireless mics, tripods, etc.) is quite old and should be replaced.
