MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF ASSESSORS
September 17, 2012
3:00 PM STARBARD BUILDING
Members Present: Beverly Potvin Kenniston and James Dillon.
A motion was made to call the meeting to order at 3:00 p.m. by Chairman Kenniston and seconded by James Dillon.
1. Acceptance of Minutes
Motion was made by James Dillon and seconded by Beverly Potvin Kenniston. It was voted to approve the minutes of July 30, 2012.
- Supplemental Tax on New Construction
Supplemental Tax Bills on New Construction were prepared and mailed on September 10, 2012 to twenty-one property owners where occupancy permits were issued between January 1 and June 30, 2012. These bills totaled $14,705.13 and will come due on October 10, 2012.
- Review of Initial Ratios for FY2013
Field inspections on Building Permits have been completed and work has commenced on new growth calculations and total values for Fiscal Year 2013. Interim year adjustments to property values will be reviewed and adjustments made to values during the next few weeks. Review of final values for FY2013 will be available by the October assessors’ meeting.
- New Values and New Growth for FY2013
State Tax Form LA-3 Sales Reports, LA-15 Interim Year Adjustment Report, LA-4 Assessment Classification Report and LA-13 New Growth Report will be completed and submitted to the Bureau of Local Assessment within the next two weeks for approval.
The next meeting of the Board of Assessors will be held on Monday, October 22, 2012 at 3:00 P.M. in the Starbard Building.
