1.  Presentation- Audit, Sexton & Schnoll
Ms. Chrissy Hammonds gave the highlights on the single audit performed for 2017.  The threshold for grant expenses triggered a single audit.  A single audit process is to verify that all expenditures for the grants are being used properly.

H.  DISCUSSION ITEMS
1.  Cost Share Agreement #30275 SJRWM Downtown Water Main
The City of Hawthorne sent a request to SJRWM requesting termination of our grant contract #30275 Downtown Water Main Phase III Project.  As a REDI community we want to be able to reapply for FY2019 Cost Share Grant.  We received notification that our request was granted and we were released from the grant obligations.
No action was needed.  Informational purpose only.

2.  Opportunity Zone
The new opportunity zone program designated for Hawthorne and Eastern Alachua County announce by Governor Scott will help capitalize on economic development that is already underway and provide a new way for communities to grow their economy.  The program will allow investors to invest their capital gains in federally approved Opportunity Funds. These Opportunity Funds can invest in Opportunity Zones in Florida and across the nation.
No action was needed.  Informational purpose only.

3.  Florida Power & Light LED Lighting Plan
Florida Power and Light LED conversion plan.  FPL will be converting the street lights from vapor to LED.  The city will have several choices in the conversion.

J. ~REPORTS/ANNOUNCEMENTS/INFORMATION
1. City Manager Vause gave her City Managers report.
2. City Attorney Hoehn- No report
3. City Commission
Commissioner Floyd- Neighbor questioned him about his septic tank and asked how he can get on city sewer and wanted to know has he contacted staff.  City Manager Vause- He did contact city hall and he has been given the information.
Commissioner Roberts-Cheatham- Excited about the Community Center being open and gave the dates for the super seniors.
Commissioner Bouie- Congratulations to HMHS for staying open.
Vice Mayor Howard- No report
4. Mayor Surrency- Chamber bowling event July 28, He gave a presentation for the fair grounds to come to Hawthorne but it was denied by ACBOCC.  It will go to Newberry but Hawthorne will support Newberry.  School grade is still incomplete. The grade should be released on August 15.  The students return back to school August 13.
