Sign Code Workshop

A. ~CALL TO ORDER- Mayor Surrency
Mayor Surrency turned the workshop over to City Planner Allison Reagan.
B. ~SIGN CODE UPDATE
City Planner Reagan informed the City Commission that with anticipation of further development along SR 20 and the recent changes in the Supreme Court’s perspective on content neutrality the City has decided to update the current sign standards located in Section 4.2.20 of the Land Development Regulations. City Planner Reagan presented a presentation on the background on the concept of content neutrality and provided the changes in the City’s sign standards for the City Commission to review.
The City Commission asked a series of questions and thanked City Planner Reagan and City Intern Haferdy Zawani for all their hard work getting the updated information.
The City Commission directed staff to proceed with a draft sign ordinance to bring back before the City Commission.
The Workshop adjourned at 7:00PM
