Mayor Surrency stated he did a Proclamation to the family of Mr. Charles Hawkins Sr. that passed away on behalf of the City Commission.  Mr. Hawkins was a great asset to the Hawthorne Community and the local High School.

All City Commissioners agreed to instruct staff to start working on deliverables and report back to the City Commission.

Moved to authorize the City Manager to place the advertisement in the Quality Cities Magazine for the annual conference.

6. Bathrooms Lindsey Phillips Park
City Attorney Hoehn read the Resolution by title only.
City Commission and Staff had a brief discussion.
Moved to approve the resolution to close the restrooms at Lindsey Phillips Park and rent portables with hand washing facilities from Dampier Septic Tank & Portable Toilets for $250/month until the renovations are complete.

Mrs. Lillian Hutchinson- recently retired from the City of Gainesville and is running for candidate for District 20 in 2018.

Commissioner Roberts-Cheatham- Super Seniors BarBQ is coming up and is asking the City Commission to donate drinks.  Congratulations to City Clerk McGruder for continuing her Code Classes and passing level 2.

4. Mayor Surrency- April 29, 2017 another clean up at Lindsey Phillips Park.  Hawthorne Homecoming opening ceremony June 29.  Keep former City Commissioner Harry Carter in your prayers.
