C. ~RECOGNITIONS & GUESTS
1. Mr. Al Davis Retirement Recognition
The City Commission presented Mr. Davis with a plaque representing his retirement after 17 years of service to the City of Hawthorne.
2. Ms. Janice Stallings presented the City of Hawthorne with a wood, hand carved sign for the LOCNP.
D. ~COMMITTEE REPORTS/PRESENTATIONS/PROCLAMATIONS
1. Presentation of FRDAP Checks
Ms. Valerie Rivers Department of Environmental Protection presented the City of Hawthorne with a $100K FRDAP for the Hawthorne Athletic Park and LOCNP.
2. Ms. Iva McLaughlin 100th Birthday Proclamation
Mayor Surrency read a Proclamation celebrating Ms. Iva McLaughlin 100th Birthday celebration.
3. Citizen of the Month
The City of Hawthorne recognized some local residents and local businesses that volunteered to help do some renovations to the home of Ms. Jennifer Tozzo.
4. City Government Week Resolution
Mayor Surrency read the Resolution recognizing City Government Week October 18-24, 2015.
E. ~CITIZEN COMMENTS
Mr. Keith Harmon, Hawthorne Library Manager- United Way program at Shell Elementary and they are looking for volunteers to help read to the children.
Ms. Belinda Williams- A registered nurse and would like to volunteer her time to help with the seniors in the area and open a senior daycare.
Mr. Larry Tilbury- What is the status of the Code Enforcement Board. City Manager Vause stated we have posted for the position for the City Planner that will also do the Code Enforcement but until then if we have an emergency that comes up staff will handle it.

1. City Manager Vause gave an update on Drainage, FDOT Loan, St. Johns River Water Management, CDBG, FRDAP, LOCNP, Old Hawthorne Theater and Staff.

3. City Commission
Commissioner Roberts- Congratulations to Mayor Surrency for making the cover of QC Magazine. Health Fair was a great success.
Commissioner Floyd- Not Present
Commissioner Bouie- No Report
Vice Mayor Howard- Alton Rutledge has done a great job in the Lindsey Phillips City Park.
4. Mayor Surrency- Chamber of Commerce Halloween Event October 30-31, 2015. Thank you to City Staff for helping the City of Archer with their utility billing problems. City Clerk attended and completed her conference to stay clerk certified. Ask staff to look into painting the outside of the new water tower on SE 65th Avenue.
City Manager Vause announced she will be Wednesday-Friday. She was invited to travel with Gainesville Chamber of Commerce to South Carolina.
