1.  Citizen of the Month- 2014-2015 HMHS Boys Basketball Team & Coaches & Administration
The City Commission recognized the HMHS Boys Basketball Team as the Citizens of the Month for April 2015.
2.  Proclamation; Mayors Day of Recognition for National Service
Mayor Surrency read the Proclamation making April 8, 2015 Mayors Day of Recognition for National Service.

2.  Resolution- (FDOT) Concept design of SE 221st Street
City Manager Vause- FDOT & Design Consultant at the City’s request have looked at the proposed Serpentine Concept for SE 221st Street.  FDOT needs a resolution to approve the Serpentine design.
FDOT was present to answer questions.  Mr. & Mrs. Moore (Hawthorne Apartments); Mr. Wally Russell; Mr. Keith Harmon (Hawthorne Library); Mr. Dave Lewis (Hawthorne Heating & Air); Mr. Winford Jenkins; Ms. Pat Moore (Hawthorne Historical Society; and Mr. Teddy (Hawthorne Florist)  all spoke about the downtown improvements and gave suggestions.
Moved to approve the resolution to approve the serpentine concept for SE 221st Street.

3.  Resolution- Qualifying for the 2015 Annual City Election
City Manager Vause- Qualifying for the 2015 City Election begins Monday April 13, 2015 at noon and ends Wednesday April 22, 2015 at noon.  The city election is June 9, 2015.
Moved to approve the resolution setting the qualifying dates.

4.  Resolution- Disposal of Old Office Equipment
City Manager Vause- Staff recommends disposing of old broken items and seeks advice as how they should be disposed of.
Moved to approve the resolution to dispose of the old broken office equipment and allow the City Manager to dispose of the items as she sees necessary.

5.  Resolution- Disposal of Old Safe
City Manager Vause- Staff recommends disposing of the broken safe.  Staff has had several people to inquire about the broken safe.  Staff wants permission to sale it or donate it.

6.  Appoint a new elected City Official for School Concurrency
City Manager Vause- Commissioner Roberts is stepping down because she now serves on North Florida Regional Planning Board to represent the City of Hawthorne.
Commissioner Bouie nominated herself to replace Commissioner Roberts.

City Manager Vause- A date has not been set for the Great American Clean up but staff is asking for approval of the dumpster round up in lieu of the event.

9.  2015 Hawthorne Chamber of Commerce Community Fun Bowl
City Commissioners agreed to help sponsor a lane for the fun bowl by paying $10 each.

J. ~REPORTS/ANNOUNCEMENTS/INFORMATION
1. City Manager Vause gave an update on Audit, CDBG Grant, FRDAP Grant, Loves Travel Center, Hawthorne Estates, LOCNP, Water Line replacement projects and staff.

2. City Attorney Hoehn- Altitude case will proceed and the satellite dishes will be removed.

3. City Commission
Commissioner Carlton- The reason he voted no on the FDOT design is because they haven’t shown him where the businesses parking spaces will be.
Commissioner Bouie- Her church wants her to publically thank Mayor Surrency for being their Master of Ceremony at their church program.
Vice Mayor Howard- Thank you to the city for getting the light installed at the fishing dock.

4. Mayor Surrency- Easter egg hunt was a huge success at LOCNP.  April 10, 2015 the Mayor will have a car wash to raise money for the super seniors to help pay for their transportation to Tallahassee.  Ethics course April 17, 2015 in Alachua.  Became the Florida League of Cities President on March 23, 2015.
