1. Presentation- Citizen of the Month Ms. Jessica Carroll
Mayor Surrency and the City Commission recognized and thank Ms. Jessica Carroll for personally adopting SE 223 Street and doing the cleaning by herself.
2. Presentation- Mr. John Martin, Candidate for Alachua County Commissioner
Mr. John Martin, Candidate for District 4 County Commission asked the citizens to support him on November 4, 2014.
3. Presentation- FDOT, Bicycle Lane Grant
Mr. Bill Henry, FDOT gave a brief summary about the bike trail going through downtown Hawthorne.
4. Proclamation- City Government Week
Mayor Surrency read the Proclamation for City Government week for October 19-25, 2014.

H. CDBG 2ND PUBLIC HEARING FOR ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT GRANT
1. Open Public Hearing and present information included in the draft application
Mr. Fred Fox open the Public Hearing and presented the draft application to the City Commission.
2. Open the meeting for public comments
Mr. Larry Tilbury asked for further explanation on the routes the water lines will go to run water to the Love’s Travel Center. Mr. Fox explained the route.
3. Close the Public Hearing
Mayor Surrency and Mr. Fox closed the Public Hearing.
4. Consideration of Resolution to submit the CDBG Application
