1. Presentation- Alachua County Growth Management
Moving Alachua County Forward is on the November 4, 2014 Election ballot. Trying to get 1% sales tax for 8 years to raise money to fund road repairs.  The money raised from the sales tax would be used to fix the roads in Alachua County.
Mr. Sam Collins asked Hawthorne citizens to vote for the 1% sales tax.  The roads in Hawthorne need to be repaired and this tax will help get this done.
Moved to support the Moving Alachua County Forward 1% Sales Tax.

2.  Citizen of the Month Nominations
City Manager Vause elected Ms. Jessica Carroll for citizen of the month.  Ms. Carroll was responsible for cleaning the road behind Hitchcock’s Plaza (SE 223 Street).

I. ~REPORTS/ANNOUNCEMENTS/INFORMATION
1. City Manager Vause- Update on meetings attended, FRWA, FRDAP Grant, Planning Grant, CDBG Grant, Interns, Server, Flooring and Staff.
2. City Attorney Hoehn- Having issues with Altitude Communications making their lease payments.
3. City Commission

4. Mayor Surrency- Ethics training email was sent out but it don’t pertain to Hawthorne Commissioners.  City of Hawthorne don’t renew until 2015.  Asking staff to schedule a workshop to identify neighborhood watch commanders.  November 6 School Communication Forum at Shell Elementary. The time will be announced later.  Alachua County League of Cities in Gainesville tomorrow night.
