Mayor Surrency and the City Commission recognized these 3 outstanding people for the great work they have done in the City of Hawthorne and surrounding community.

E.  CITIZEN COMMENTS
Ms. Janice Brown Stallings- The Cemetery at the LOCNP is very clean and very beautiful.  The old tree that had fallen is now removed.  HMHS play tonight at 7PM and Thursday at 7PM.  Please support our local school.

1.  City Commission Minutes (Nov 19 Fair Housing Workshop & Nov 19 City Commission Meeting)

2.  City Cemetery Regulations
City Manager Vause- The City Cemetery Association is disbanding and the City will except full responsibility for the governing of the Cemetery.  Staff seeks guidance in establishing the official regulations.
The City Commission agreed to bring dates for a workshop at the January Meeting and directed the City Attorney to look at how other cities have their regulations written.

3.  Maverick Holdings, LLC
City Manager Vause- The City Commission declared the Maverick Holdings property a nuisance and sent proper notification to Maverick Holdings, LLC but have received no response and the property is still in violation.
Moved to direct staff to obtain bids and abate the nuisance and allow the City Manager to accept the lowest bid and begin the process.

4.  A 13-1 LOCNP Annexation Status Update
City Planner Castine gave an update on the LOCNP Annexation and staff directed the City Planner to begin the work on the Comprehensive Plan Amendment and Rezoning petitions.

G.  PUBLIC HEARING
1.  SECOND READING- A 13-1 Little Orange Creek Nature Park
City Planner Castine summarized the Voluntary Annexation petition for the portion of the LOCNP owned by the City of Hawthorne.
City Attorney Hoehn read the Ordinance by title only.
Moved to adopt the Ordinance for annexation A 13-1 on 2nd reading.

2.  FIRST READING- None

H.  DISCUSSION
1.  Auditorium Chairs
City Manager Vause presented prices for chairs for the auditorium ranging from $35-$65 dollars per chair.
City Commission directed staff to continue shopping and see if we have the funding to replace the benches.

I.  CITIZEN COMMENTS
Ms. J. Tozzo- Was appointed to the State of Florida Hearing Loss Board and will be representing the City of Hawthorne.  Is working with Commissioner Roberts to do a presentation for the Super Seniors.

Ms. Dewalby- Great, great grandson of Mr. Hawthorne visited the Museum.

J.  REPORTS
City Manager Vause gave an update on Plum Creek, Hawthorne Area Historical Society, Fallen tree, Brownfield Assessment Grant, FLC and Staff.

City Attorney Hoehn- No Report

Commissioner Roberts- Tomorrow from 11AM - 1PM is the Super Seniors Christmas Luncheon provided by the City Commission.  ACSO will be present doing a presentation on safety.  All are welcome.

Commissioner Carlton- December 7 is Pearl Harbor Day.

Commissioner Bouie- No Report

Vice Mayor Howard- No Report

Mayor Surrency gave updates on the Christmas Parade, Hope for Hawthorne, Legislative Delegation and Florida League of Cities.
