Update on Code Enforcement- CEO Al Davis
CEO Davis- the City Commission has his 3 month report and will answer any questions from the City Commission.
The City Commission asked a few questions regarding code violations.
1. Mr. Larry Tilbury suggested staff speak with Mr. Von Frazier regarding the tax certificate sale on the Ora S. Dunlap Life Estate property.

2. Asset Management Maintenance Contract New Water Tower
City Manager Vause- The new water tower is now 3 years old. A maintenance contract to keep the water tower meeting the requirements of Florida Law is needed. Staff recommends approval of the Water Tank Maintenance Contract with Utility Service Co.
Mr. Tim McDaniel of Utility Service Co was present and answered a few questions from the City Commission.

3. Great American Clean up
City Manager Vause asked each Commissioner to organize a group of volunteers and
clean a certain area in the City during the clean-up day. The event starts at 8am until
12pm.
Each Commissioner stated which area they would be responsible for getting clean.
4. Little Orange Creek Nature Park update & Priorities and Timeline
Park & Rec Director Wynkoop- Due to recent acquisition of property by FDOT adjacent to LOCNP annexation is now possible for the southern portion of the property. This will delay the master plan process but will make the process less expensive.

1. Ms. Janice Brown Stallings- Sorry to interfere with the Great American Cleanup but there will be a tree planting day at LOCNP on Saturday beginning at 9:30am.
2. Mr. Larry Tilbury- Mowing season is coming up and hopefully citizens will keep the lawns mowed.

City Manager Vause gave her month City Manager’s Report on updates within the City of Hawthorne.
The City Commission agreed to have a Budget Review on May 14, 2013 @ 2pm.
City Attorney Harris- No Report
Commissioner Roberts- Last meeting for Super Seniors is May 1, 2013 at 11am.
Commissioner Carlton- Attended Senior meeting and it was very good. Had a speaker on home safety.
Commissioner Randall- No Report
Vice Mayor Howard- No Report
Mayor Surrency- May 28 FLC meeting in Hawthorne. Shell Elementary Spring Fling April 26, 2013 at 4:30pm. Shell Elementary Book fair on April 30, 2013 6:30pm-7:30pm
