Discussions and Actions

 

l  The minutes of the Mar. 3st  FinCom meeting were reviewed and approved.  (4-0-0)

l  Tim Bragan requested a vote to approved deficit spending for snow and ice.  Marie Crowley-Sobalvarro moved to authorized spending for ice and snow deficit.  Motion seconded by Terry Mead, Passed (4-0-0)

l  Due to technical difficulties, some  numbers  for FY 07 and FY 08 budget  were  incorrectly  published in the Warrant. There will be a corrected Omnibus Budget to pass out at Town Meeting.

l  Debbie Ricci reviewed tonight's agenda  for the Public Forum and the committee previewed the slides which will be presented by Tim Bragan. 

l  Steve Colwell reported that most likely there will be a request for Transfer of  Reserve Fund spending for the Schools for Special Education expenses.

l  7:15 pm.  The Public Forum on the Budget

l  Debbie Ricci welcomed the crowd. The focus of this forum will be FY09 Omnibus Budget

l  Tim Bragan presented a slide show on the State of the Town :  Revenue, Spending and Override.

l  Debbie Ricci presented  the highlights of the Omnibus Budget FY09. Overview of the Recommended FY09 budget and for FY07Actuals and FY08Budget  for Selectmen and Elected Boards and the Schools with  handouts to the audience.  Greatest spending is on Personnel 

l  Debbie reviewed the three articles 5,6,7 which would allocate  $102K in additional spending.

l  Increase cost of Town services and  state and country inflation was a popular topic  for discussion.

l  There was audience discussion on FinCom's decision to declare  'No Position'  on Articles 5,6 and 7 in this year's Warrant.

l  The Public Forum ended at 9:00pm.
