Finance Committee Minutes – 1 March 2007, Town Hall
Meeting called to order at 7:38 p.m.
Members present: Colwell, McKenna, Mead, Ricci, Russo, Sobalvarro
Administrators Present: Leonard
Handbook Cover: decision for the 4 photos
Modifications to the text of the handbook were discussed.
Some minor modifications which were covered were:
“The increased programs include math teachers, math tutors, increased hours for a special education coordinator,” for the Schools section.
“The finance committee believes that the town must develop a plan to increase alternative revenue for the town without depending on double-digit property tax increases,” for the State of the Town Section.
DPW Truck: The FC does not recommend the purchase of this expensive vehicle until alternatives have been fully investigated. Although the trucks slated for replacement are old and should be removed from service, there may be more cost-effective options.
The entire text of the handbook was reviewed, and comments were solicited for the all-day review scheduled for Saturday.
