BOARD OF WATER COMMISSIONERS MEETING APRIL 28, 2010
Members Present: Mrs. Phyllis Bickford, Mrs. Mary Lou Sutter, Mr. Bruce Young, Mr. Joseph Duffy, and Mr. Douglas Ficks.
Also Present: Mr. Neal Merritt, Water Supt.
Meeting opened at 5:00 P.M.
Motion by Mr. Bruce Young to enter into Executive Session at 5:02 P.M. seconded by Mr. Joseph Duffy under #5 to investigate charges of criminal misconduct or to discuss the filing of criminal complaints. Roll call vote: Mrs. Bickford, aye; Mrs. Sutter, aye; Mr. Young, aye; Mr. Duffy, aye; Mr. Ficks, aye.
Back in public session at 6:17 P.M. One motion was made in Executive Session and one vote was taken.
Mr. Barry Woods from Buzzards Bay Water Department was in to discuss the WARN program-WARN-Water, Wastewater Agency Response Network. He discussed the different reasons why it is important to be a member. Once you join, there is involuntary commitment to supply services to other communities. There are presently 70 communities participating in this mutual aid program. No fees and no renewal process. MAWARN 101 meeting is scheduled for June 3, 2010 in Milford MA.
We will revisit this issue after June 3rd meeting and decide whether we wish to participate.

Water Treatment chemical bid results were reviewed. Price of sodium hydroxide is down. Should result in a $4,000 a year savings.
Contract for Well#1 was signed. This is the purchase price for the pump and motor. Motion by Mr. Bruce Young; seconded by Mr. Douglas Ficks; to enter into contract with F.G. Sullivan in the amount of $5,464.00 for that purpose. Voted 5-0 in the affirmative.
Motion by Mr. Bruce Young to approve the following abatements as proposed. Seconded by Mr. Mike Duffy. Abatements: Acct.#2028-$60.00; Acct.#3400-$228.85; Acct. #420-$271.40. Voted 5-0 in favor.
Discussed water main quotes for King Street and how to approach it.
Reviewed minutes of March 24, 2010 regular & executive. Motion by Mr. Douglas Ficks to accept the minutes of March 24, 2010 regular and executive as typed. Seconded by Mr. Bruce Young. 5-0 in favor.

Motion by Mr. Bruce Young to adjourn at 7:55 P.M. Seconded by Mr. Mike Duffy.
