Announcements
There are vacancies on the Finance Committee and Conservation Commission. If you are interested in serving on either committee, please complete an application for appointment and return it to the Selectmen’s office. Applications are available on line at www.hanson-ma.gov Citizen library/volunteer employment opportunities.
The Treasurer/Collector office wishes to inform residents that the 3rd & 4th quarter real estate and personal property tax bills for fiscal year 2015 were mailed in December and will be due on February 2, 2015 and May 1, 2015 respectively. Taxpayers who have not received a bill should contact the Treasurer/Collector’s office at 781-293-2422 as soon as possible.
Open Burning Season will begin January 15th and will run until April 30th . Permits can be obtained starting January 5th at Fire Headquarters, 505 Liberty Street, daily from 9-5. The cost of a permit is $20.00 payable by check or money order made out to The Town of Hanson. NO CASH WILL BE ACCEPTED.
The Town Clerk has announced that nomination papers for the May 16, 2015 Town Election are now available at the Town Clerk’s office for the following offices:
Moderator – 1 year; 2 Selectmen – 3 years; Assessor – 3 Years; Board of Health – 3 years; Cemetery Commissioner – 3 years; Planning Board- 5 years; Hanson Housing Authority
5 years; 2 Constables – 3 years; Trustee of Memorial Field – 3 years; 2 Trustees of Public Library – 3 years; Whitman-Hanson Regional School District Committee PreK-12 – 3 years; 2 Water Commissioners – 3 years; Water Commissioner – 1 year.
