REGULAR TOWN BOARD MEETING OCTOBER 5, 2009
A regular Meeting of the Town Board of Guilderland was held at the Town Hall, Route 20 McCormick's Corners, Guilderland, NY, on the above date at 7:30 pm. The meeting was opened with the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. Roll call by Rosemary Centi, Town Clerk, showed the following to be present

Supervisor Runion welcomed everyone to the evening’s meeting and asked for a motion accepting the minutes of the September l 7, 2009 Town Board meeting.
MOTION #149 Councilwoman Slavick moved to ACCEPT THE MINUTES OF THE SEPTEMBER 17, 2009 TOWN BOARD MEETING. Councilman Pastore seconded the motion and it was carried by the following roll call vote:

PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD- No Public Comment
AGENDA ITEMS:
Supervisor Runion presented the 2010 Tentative Budget for discussion and review. The budget was filed with the Town Clerk’s Office on September 30, 2009.
Budget Highlights:
a. No town tax increase, if town board approves Supervisor’s tentative town budget for 2010
b. Town tax rate for 2010 would be 26 cents per thousand dollars of assessed valuation, if town board approves Supervisor’s tentative town budget
c. A home assessed at $200,000 would pay a total of $52.00 in general town tax, if town board approves Supervisor’s tentative town budget
Board members asked for clarification of a number of line items. Supervisor Runion and John O’Mara, Town Fiscal Officer, explained all.
MOTION #155 Councilman Pastore moved to SET A PUBLIC HEARING FOR ADOPTION OF THE 2010 TOWN BUDGET ON NOVEMBER 5, 2009 AT 7:30PM. Councilwoman Slavick seconded the motion and it was carried by the following roll call vote:

The last item on the agenda concerned filing a request for a grant application for the Justice Court Assistance Program.
Supervisor Runion explained that this application would be filed in order to obtain a grant for such items as cameras placed around town hall and greater security measures.
MOTION #156 Councilman Redlich moved to APPROVE THE FILING OF A GRANT APPLICATION FOR THE JUSTICE COURT ASSISTANCE PROGRAM. Councilwoman Slavick seconded the motion and it was carried by the following roll call vote:

Supervisor Runion reminded everyone of the three public hearings to be held on October 20th.
The first concerned a zoning enforcement issue at 7:30 PM and the other two for the sewer assessment roll at 8:00 and 8:15 PM.
