A regular Meeting of the Town Board of Guilderland was held at the Town Hall, Route 20 McCormick's Corners, Guilderland, NY, on the above date at 7:30 pm. The meeting was opened with the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. Roll call by Rosemary Centi, Town Clerk, showed the following to be present:

Supervisor Runion welcomed everyone to the evening’s meeting and asked for a motion approving the minutes of the September 19, 2006 Town Board meeting.
MOTION #199 Councilman Bosworth moved to APPROVE THE MINUTES OF THE SEPTEMBER 19, 2006 TOWN BOARD MEETING. Councilwoman Slavick seconded the motion and it was carried by the following roll call vote:

PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD – Thomas Hockenberry asked the Board if the Town would be taking over the duties of the Western Turnpike Rescue Squad service.
Supervisor Runion stated that there had been some questions regarding the billing procedure but that there had been no discussion among the Board members regarding taking over the duties of the rescue squad.
Mr. Hockenberry asked if there would be a town - wide vote regarding the issue.
Supervisor Runion stated that such a vote would be among the board members, only.

Supervisor Runion stated that there would be an update on the Guilderland Hamlet Study with a public hearing on October 19, 2006 at the Guilderland Elementary School.
Don Csaposs stated that a preliminary draft had been sent to the Study Advisory Committee.

Item #4 on the agenda concerned authorizing an amendment to the lease for Independent One/Nextel for wireless equipment at the Westmere Tower.
The lease agreement provides for a $2,300 per month payment with a 3% annual increase.
The agreement must go to the Zoning Board of Appeals for approval.
MOTION #203 Councilman Pastore moved to APPROVE AUTHORIZING AMENDMENT TO LEASE WITH INDEPENDENT ONE/NEXTEL FOR WIRELESS EQUIPMENT AT THE WESTMERE TOWER PER REQUEST OF THE SUPERINTENDENT OF WATER AND WASTEWATER MANAGEMENT AND SUBJECT TO THE ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS APPROVAL.
