Selectboard’s Work Session Minutes

The meeting was called to order at 4:30 PM by Chairwoman Davidson.

4:30 PM: Selectboard Working Session
At 4:30 PM the Selectboard had a discussion regarding the DPW Supervisor job description. The Board discussed placing ads in the local newspapers as well as on the Town website. The Chair said that the position should be advertised. A discussion followed regarding the process by which the Town will conduct the search process. Selectwoman Day said that it was important to work through the process and not feel like they are under the gun to do something right away. There was consensus that the position would be advertised. The Board next discussed an opportunity to utilize Primex to help with the search process.
5:00 PM: Selectboard Working Session – Non-Public Session
At 5:00 PM the Board voted to enter into non-public session under 91-A:3 IIb Personnel, on a motion by the Chair and a second by Selectwoman Charig Bliss. Selectwoman Day, aye; Selectwoman Charig Bliss, aye; the Chair, aye; the motion passed 3-0. At 5:37 PM the Selectboard voted to end non-public session on a vote of 3-0. No decisions were made and no votes taken. The minutes were sealed.
5:40 PM: Selectboard Working Session – Review and Approval of Documents
At 5:40 PM the Board discussed the DPW Search ad and reviewed and approved a copy of the information that will be put on the Town Website and on the New Hampshire Municipal Association (NHMA) website.
A discussion regarding information from the Conservation Commission was outlined by Selectwoman Day about a fragmites infestation at Sunset Lake. This is a very invasive plant and will have to be removed with an herbicide. The Chair asked what the herbicide is called. Selectwoman Day will get that information.
The Selectboard signed a letter to the DPW department expressing gratitude and support for their hard work while the search for a new Supervisor was conducted.
Adjournment
On a motion by the Chair, and a second by Selectwoman Charig Bliss, the Board voted to adjourn. The motion carried 3-0. The meeting adjourned at 7:43 PM.
The minutes are final when approved and signed by the Selectboard. A signed copy is on file in the Selectboard’s office.
