4:30 PM: Documents for Approval/Review/Signature

At 4:30 PM the Chair opened the meeting. The Board reviewed and signed the minutes of February 27th.  The Board reviewed and signed a Pole License to PSNH and Fairpoint for a new pole on New Boston Road. The Board reviewed an abatement application. The Board reviewed a letter from the Town Administrator to the Senior Manager of Government Affairs at Comcast. The Board requested to meet with Leah Conway, Welfare Director. The Chair requested reference materials for the Selectmen be available at Town Meeting.

5:30 PM: Town Meeting Warrant Article assignment

At 5:30 PM the Board reviewed the warrant articles and each selectman volunteered as a primary person to explain specific warrant articles.

At 5:40 PM Myron Steere dropped off a copy of the Road Commission’s report on gravel roads in Greenfield. The Selectmen reviewed the copy briefly and asked several questions. Mr. Steere was asked if the Roads Commission was planning on handing the report out at Town Meeting. Mr. Steere replied that they have been planning to do so. The Board reminded Mr. Steere that they had originally planned to review the report in a meeting with the Roads Commission. They indicated that the report was long and contained a lot of information, which if handed out at Town Meeting, before the Selectmen and the DPW Supervisor had a chance to review it, would be counterproductive. Mr. Steere asked the Board to consider putting the minutes up on the website.

At 5:55 PM Mr. Steere left the meeting. The Board continued their review of the report and then voted 3-0 to have the report and the minutes of the Roads Commission be put up on the website.

Selectwoman Davidson asked if there were any departments other than the police department that provide community service hours to be worked off. There was a discussion about community service in the past and which departments are best suited to handle requests for community service.

Adjournment

On a motion by Chairman Wimpory and a second by Selectwoman Davidson the Board voted to adjourn. The motion carried 3-0. The meeting adjourned at 6:30 PM.

The minutes are final when approved and signed by the Board of Selectmen. A signed copy is on file in the Selectmen’s office.
