Selectmen’s Meeting Minutes
Thursday, January 2, 2014 – 4:30 PM

The meeting was called to order at 4:30 PM by Chairman Wimpory.

4:35 pm: Budget Work Session – No Meetings Scheduled
The Board of Selectmen reviewed the proposed 2014 budget as revised to date. The following discussions took place:
· Break out the proposed 3rd full-time officer wages in the Police budget
· Include $157,500 for Road Reconstruction and remove the notation “Old Bennington Road” so that road reconstruction can still happen on other roads if the budget is amended to a lower number on the floor of Town Meeting
· The Board noted that the tax impact using 2013 values is included, although the 2014 revaluation will cause a change to these projected tax impacts.
The Board reviewed a draft Town Warrant and discussed the numbering of the warrant articles. The Board made several changes to the order of the articles from the Administrator’s draft copy. The final order of warrant articles on the draft Town Warrant was reviewed and accepted by the Selectmen.
The Budget Hearing was re-confirmed for January 23rd at 6:30 PM. The notice for the budget hearing will go out in the paper on January 9th. The Selectmen confirmed that the draft budget was to be made available on the website and provided to the Budget Advisory Committee (BAC) members. The Selectmen indicated that they would like to meet with the BAC to go over the draft budget on January 9th.
Adjournment
On a motion by the Chair and a second by Selectwoman Davidson the Board voted to adjourn. The motion carried 3-0. The meeting adjourned at 7:25 PM.
